Obituary: Hoffman, Mary A.

HOFFMAN,
Mary A. McCabe

Mary A. Hoffman passed peacefully on June 23rd, 2012 in the presence of her children Mark and Karen McCabe.

Mary was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 41 years, Herbert Hoffman.

Herb passed four months earlier and certainly summoned Mary to be by his side once again.

Mary resided at the Riverview Care Center for the past five years, afflicted by Alzheimer’s disease, where Herb faithfully visited daily.

Riverview treated Mary with great respect and love for which the family is profoundly thankful.

Mary was one of ten children, born on October 20th, 1924 to Italian immigrants Luigi and Angelina Ariante.

Although she grew up during the great Depression, Mary never felt deprived.

Her family worked hard to get by but was always a place of laughter and happiness.

Mary loved dancing with Herb whom she met at The Arthur Murray School of Dance.

They were blessed to be able to travel with her sisters and enjoy so many good times with all of their family.

As sole provider, she worked more than one job and tirelessly provided for her children.

She was a great mother, faithful and committed to her family!

A memorial to remember Mary will be held on Saturday, July 7 at 3:00 PM at Riverview Retirement Community Chapel at 1801 E. Upriver Dr.

The family requests donations are made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
