Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge to host bat experts

The Friends of the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge will have a special illustrated presentation “Bats of the World and the Channeled Scablands” by bat experts and wildlife biologists Sandy Rancourt and Mike Rule at 7:30 p.m. July 18 at the refuge, located at 26010 S. Smith Road.

The event will be followed by a walk with a demonstration of special sound detectors that may catch bats for identification and examination. Long sleeves or jackets, pants and a flashlight are recommended. A $5 donation is suggested.
