Eastern Washington will heat up this weekend

Associated Press
SPOKANE — The National Weather Service says the high pressure system responsible for heat in much of the country is building into the Northwest this weekend. Spokane forecasters say temperatures in the Inland Northwest will be 10 to 15 degrees above normal with the chance of record-breaking heat early next week. The 97 degrees forecast for Spokane on Sunday would be the hottest temperature since August of 2009. Highs across Eastern Washington are expected in the 80s and 90s. Highs in Western Washington are forecast in the 70s to mid-80s this weekend, with even the coast getting temperatures in the 70s.
