Darci Smith scored the only goal of the match in the 17th minute as the Spokane Shine beat the Portland Rain 1-0 on Sunday in Portland.

The win kept Spokane’s playoff hopes alive. The Shine (4-2-2) must win their two remaining matches – Friday against the Eugene Metro Football Club and Saturday against the Oregon Rush, both at Joe Albi Stadium – to clinch a Women’s Premier Soccer League postseason berth.

Stephanie Busch made four saves for Spokane, which was outshot 13-5 by Portland.
