Orlando Magic deal Ryan Anderson for Hornets’ Gustavo Ayon

NBA: Orlando has agreed to a sign-and-trade deal, sending restricted free agent forward Ryan Anderson to New Orleans for forward Gustavo Ayon, a person familiar with the agreement said.

Anderson led the NBA with 3-pointers made (166) and attempted (422) last season. He shot just above 39 percent from beyond the arc, which ranked 27th in the league.

• Bucks near deal with Ilyasova: A person with direct knowledge of the negotiations claims Milwaukee is close to a deal with free-agent forward Ersan Ilyasova.

Bocanegra to return to Rangers

Soccer: U.S. captain Carlos Bocanegra will return to Glasgow Rangers on Friday, unsure if he will stay with the bankrupt club.

Rangers signed the American defender from France’s Saint-Etienne last August, but the 140-year-old club has tax debts of $32.7 million and entered bankruptcy protection in February.

• France names new coach: Didier Deschamps is the new coach of France’s national soccer team. The French Football Federation announced the appointment after Laurent Blanc turned down a new contract offer last month.

• Giggs named British captain: Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs was chosen captain of Britain’s Olympic team.

My Adonis holds on at Monmouth

Horse racing: My Adonis held off Macho Macho by a half-length in the $100,000 Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J. The 3-year-old colt ran 1 1/16 miles over the fast track in 1:44.98 and paid $5.40, $2.80 and $2.40.

• La Cloche takes Voodoo Dancer Stakes: La Cloche beat Wallis by 3 1/4 lengths in the $90,000 Voodoo Dancer Stakes for fillies and mares at Belmont Park in New York.
