Letters to the Editor

Bring power to facts

You are brave to publish a column as hard-hitting as those of Leonard Pitts Jr. The July 2 column should be on the front page of your paper; in fact, it should be on the front page of every paper in the country.

James Carville’s claim to fame, “It’s the economy, stupid!” is rivaled by Pitts’ phrase, “the impotence of fact,” and should be adopted as the watchword, the theme, the slogan, of the current election campaign.

Let’s spread the idea and see if we can breed a little more skepticism in the gullible public.
