Israel discriminates

I concur with the views in the June 30 op-ed by Marianne Torrez and Myrta Laditch. Discrimination on the basis of race, religion and ethnic origin is not the principle upon which America was founded, or is able to thrive. However, these are the principles upon which the state of Israel was founded and continues to operate at the expense of the basic human rights of the Palestinian people.

Mindlessly supporting policies that are completely and fundamentally opposed to the principles of an enlightened America will never be in the interest of the U.S., or the world, in the 21st century, and only makes possible the continuation of this tragic syndrome in the Middle East that has already gone on for far too long.
