Lila Kay
(Age 73)

Born January 13th, 1939 in Spokane, WA and resided until her death July 8th, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Gyle F. Nelson and was the daughter of James and Alvera Wallace all of Spokane.
The Wallace family had a chicken farm in the Spokane Valley and supplied eggs daily to Sacred Heart Hospital and The Davenport Hotel.

It was a family business so she and her sister had daily farm responsibilities of which she shared stories about for many years.
Lila graduated from West Valley High School in 1957.

She married Gyle that same summer and became a loving wife and mother.

Lila loved being a homemaker.

She enjoyed cooking, cleaning and raising her children.

She was the room mom for all three of her kids as well as scout leader and participated in the schools PTA programs.
She was employed by JCPenney in the mid 1970s where she worked in the shoe department for a short time while Gyle transitioned his career into Real Estate.

Soon after Gyle was established with Tomlinson Agency Valley, Lila retired and returned to homemaking.

Lila was a member of Opportunity Presbyterian Church and then later in life Redeemer Lutheran Church in Spokane Valley.

There she served on numerous communities and social circles to include summer VTS programs.
Lila was survived by her loving sister, Lois J. Fransen-Budd of the Spokane Valley; and her three children, Kerri S. Kline (Daryl) of Mesa, AZ, Kristen K. Bill (Martin) of Spokane Valley, and Keith Gyle Nelson (Christine) of Mesa, AZ.
She loved her six grandchildren and got so much joy watching them all grow up into young responsible adults.

Anne Kline Ross of San Tan Valley, AZ, Ashley Kline Comon (Kristopher) of El Paso, TX, Angelina Bill Newton (Jordan) of Salem, OR, Amanda M. Nelson of Mesa, AZ, Tye M. Bill of Salem, OR and Kevin Gyle Nelson of Mesa, AZ.

Lila was blessed with five great-grandchildren all living in Arizona.
Lila was well loved by so many extended family members, close friends and loving, supportive neighbors.There will be a visitation held Wednesday, July 11th, 4-8 PM at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Road, Spokane Valley.

A memorial service will be held at Thornhill Valley Funeral Chapel on Thursday, July 12th, 2012 at 11 AM with graveside service immediately following at Pines Cemetery.
