In brief: Ask public figures your questions

From Local Reports

ROCKFORD – Two public events are planned in Rockford this week at the McIntosh Grange. A county commissioner candidate forum will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday. All the candidates for the Spokane County Commissioner District 2 seat – Shelly O’Quinn, Rob Chase and Daryl Romeyn – have been invited to participate.

The grange will also host an open house with Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Residents are encouraged to attend and ask any questions they have about law enforcement in the area.

The Grange is at the corner of First Street and Lake in Rockford.

Watch ‘The Muppets’ in the park

SPOKANE VALLEY – The city of Spokane Valley will host the first of its free summer outdoor movies next Saturday at Mirabeau Meadows Park. “The Muppets” will be shown at dusk, but for the hour preceding the movie there will be activities for kids in the park.

People are invited to bring blankets or chairs to sit on. The second free outdoor movie, “Puss in Boots,” will be shown Aug. 18. The park is on Mirabeau Parkway just east of Pines Road.
