Passed away July 11, 2012 at her Oakesdale home from cancer.

She was born December 12, 1925 at St. John, WA to Van V. and Emma (Grambsch) VanVoorhis.

She attended schools at St. John and Tekoa, graduating from Tekoa High School in 1944.

Joyce married Kenneth G. Larsen on July 1, 1950 at Coeur d’Alene, ID, and the couple made their home at Oakesdale.

Mrs. Larsen was a homemaker most all of her life.

Her husband Kenneth died in 1997.
She was a member of the Oakesdale First Baptist Church, the Fit Farm, and former member of the Tekoa Grange.

Joyce loved to garden and worked hard putting food on her family’s table.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, working puzzles, and working out at the Fit Farm.

She loved people and would just call and chat with her friends.
Survivors include her children, Robert Larsen of Oakesdale, WA, Melanie (Fred) Larsen - Nowland of Spangle, WA, and Donald (Sherri) Larsen of Oakesdale, WA; four grandchildren, Brianna Larsen, Danielle Larsen, Josh Larsen-Nowland, and Justina Larsen-Nowland; and a brother James VanVoorhis of Hayden, ID.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Oakesdale, WA.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 19th at 4:30 p.m. at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa, WA.

Pastor Tom Dahl will officiate at the services.

A potluck dinner will follow the memorial service on Saturday at the church.
