WILLIAMS, Neil T.
(Age 72)

Neil joined his beloved Dolores on July 13, 2012.

Dolores preceded him in death in November, 2006.
Neil was born in Spokane, WA on May 16, 1940.

He grew up in North Spokane, attending Willard Grade School and North Central High School.

He attended Eastern Washington University, where he participated in the ROTC program and graduated with a teaching degree.

During his senior year, Neil and Dolores were married November 23, 1961.
After graduation from EWU, he served five years of active duty in the Army.

He then completed the remainder of his service with 23 years in the Reserves, retiring at the rank of Captain.

Neil was very proud to be a Vietnam Veteran.

After his military service, he and Dolores returned to Spokane to raise their three girls.


Neil retired from Spokane Public Schools at the age of 52, having taught at Lincoln Heights Elementary and Glover Junior High School.

His greatest love since childhood has been spending time at Priest Lake, Idaho.

He built the family cabin in 1974, which continues to be a place for family and friends to create lasting memories.

He enjoyed simple activities such as boating, reading, watching and attending local sporting events, spending time with his grandchildren, travelling, and being with family.

Neil was a very genuine, authentic and personable man.


He is survived by his three daughters: Stephanie (Larry) Bremgartner, Sheri Sirek and fiancĂŠ (Greg Himmelspach) and Susan (Jeff) Norton; his four grandchildren: Derek and Lindsey Sirek, Gabrielle and Hannah Norton and stepgranddaughters; Ashley and Courteney Bremgartner, his sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Bob Balsley.


A memorial service honoring Neil’s life will be held at Hennessey- Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, 5pm Friday, July 20, followed by a funeral mass at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 428 W. 19th, 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012.
