Algae health advisory at Fernan Lake lifted

Staff reports
Blue-green algae is no longer a threat to recreation at Fernan Lake, the Panhandle Health District says. A health advisory issued July 11 warned that toxins produced by an algae bloom were harmful to humans. Since then the district and the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality have been monitoring the lake. The district issued a statement today saying blue-green algae is “no longer a concern” for people fishing and swimming at the lake.
