Better ways to spend money than on sign

Just out of curiosity, how is this proposed Theirman Road entry sign telling people where they are to be paid for? Are they cutting wages again? Or maybe our esteemed council members are going to personally foot the bill, and then take turns making sure the landscaping is maintained, such as trimming, watering, mowing, etc.

With our economy as it is and the number of people unemployed, it seems you all could come up with some better ideas to spend money.

Something else that bothers me is the lack of concern people have keeping fire hydrants clear of any and all grass, weeds, and in the winter, the snow. One hydrant that I pass by often is on the corner of Main Avenue and Herald Road, and it is almost always partially obscured, by one thing or another. This is the property owners’ responsibility, but many of them sure don’t seem to care. I sure hope they won’t have to regret it.
