Christmas in July Food Drive – Positive Life Radio 104.9 will present its annual Christmas in July Food Drive on Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m. at various locations. In north Spokane, donations will be accepted at the Better Living Center, 25 E. North Foothills Drive. There also will be collection centers in Spokane Valley, Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene. The station is looking for nonperishable food items and will also accept toiletries, especially products for women and children. All items will go to area food banks for distribution. Outdoor concert - Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8441 N. Indian Trail Road, will present the last of its summer concert series Wednesday. The Usual Suspects will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. This week, the church will offer the Show and Shine car show at 6 p.m. Car enthusiasts are invited to enter their hot rods or classic cars for a $5 entry fee. Open house and rummage sale - Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will host an open house and rummage sale in conjunction with the South Perry Street Fair on Saturday. The open house will be from noon to 2 p.m., while the rummage sale will be in the temple gym from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (509) 534-7974.

Singles groups - Christian Singles Fellowship will host its 11th annual barbecue picnic at Liberty Lake Regional Park, 3707 S. Zephyr Road, on July 28. The event begins at 8 a.m. with a hike and includes volleyball, swimming and games for all ages until the day wraps up at 8 p.m.The barbecue lunch will be served from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and will be $6 for adults and teens, $3 for children 12 and younger when accompanied by a parent. Tickets do not include admission to the park. Advance ticket purchase is required.
