Ron passed away July 13, 2012 in Spokane, WA.
He was born August 30, 1938 in Sandpoint, ID to Audubon and Agnes Thompson.
Ron was raised in Colville, WA.
Shortly following graduation from Colville in 1956, he joined the USAF and continued his military service in the reserves until he retired in December 1994.
In 1962 Ron married Joyce Dehart and they were blessed with two wonderful sons; Eugene Thompson and Rick Thompson; whom they raised in Reardan, WA.
Ron was a lifelong member of the NRA, FOE and very active with hunting, fishing, camping, horses and gun shows.
He is survived by his two sons, Gene and his wife Shannon; Rick and his wife Paula and four grandchildren, his brother Travis Thompson and his wife Sharon, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brothers; Clinton “Bud” Thompson, Harold Thompson and Glen Thompson.
A memorial service celebrating Ron’s life will take place Sunday, July 29th, 2-5 pm at the Eagles Lodge, 6410 N Lidgerwood St, Spokane WA 99208.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s honor may be sent to the NRA or a charity of choice.
