WILKENING, Olive Anna

Olive passed peacefully with family on December 27, 2011 in Spokane, WA.

She was born in Seattle, WA August 4, 1918 to Perris and Alexander Stocks.

She graduated from North Central High School and Kinman Business College.

She married Robert H. Wilkening in Spokane in 1940.

Together they owned and operated Automotive Electric Co/Western Battery until they sold to sons: Robert H. and Thomas R. Wilkening.

Olive was athletic and loved sports, especially golf.

Her hobbies included fishing on Lake Pend Orielle, gardening and playing cards.

She left us a legacy of hard work and fair play.

She and Robert traveled to Mexico for many years and more recently spent winters in the Palm Springs area.

She is survived by her daughter: Julie Ann Shelby, sons: Robert H. and Thomas R. (Julie P.) Wilkening, six grandsons, three granddaughters, and numerous great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister: Phyllis Cooper of Seattle and predeceased by two brothers and one sister.

Olive shared her zest for life, enthusiasm and sense of humor with those who knew her.

She loved unconditionally and was forever generous.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in the garden at Jim Shelby’s home, 1606 Crest Hill Drive (17th Ave. at Upper Terrace Rd), Spokane.
