TV Notes: ‘About Face’ explores lives of legendary models

“About Face: Supermodels Then and Now” – How do women known primarily for their physical beauty manage to age gracefully, and in some cases, reinvent themselves? This compelling documentary from filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, explores the lives and careers of legendary models, while highlighting the complex relationship between physical appearance and the business of beauty. Among those interviewed: Carol Alt, Christie Brinkley, Jerry Hall, Isabella Rossellini, Paulina Porizkova, Lisa Taylor and Cheryl Tiegs. 9 p.m., Monday, HBO.

SUNDAY: The Summer Olympics continue today and throughout the week on NBC and its various cable platforms. Tonight’s prime-time coverage focuses heavily on the U.S. women’s gymnastics squad, which takes the floor for the first day of team competition. 7 p.m., NBC.

SUNDAY: The show with what might the best TV title ever - “Hillbilly Handfishin’ ” – looks to make another big, muddy splash in its second season. If you still don’t know what “noodling” is, you better get rural and get with the program. 8 p.m., Animal Planet.

SUNDAY: If you’re allergic to roses (or even if you’re not), “3” just might be just the dating show for you. It follows three women with very different backgrounds who come together with one common goal: To find true, camera-ready love. 9 p.m., CBS.

MONDAY: On “The Real Housewives of New York City,” Sonja goes on a date with Aviva’s sex-addicted father, and, um, that’s really all we want to know about that. 9 p.m., Bravo.

TUESDAY: No, it’s not a Tom Cruise movie. “All the Right Moves” is a new docu-series that follows four accomplished dancers and best pals who struggle to launch a contemporary dance company in Los Angeles. 9 p.m., Oxygen.

TUESDAY: Who said being a member of a boy band is nothing but bliss? On “Rizzoli & Isles,” a boy-band star is murdered and the case is personal for Jane and Frankie (Angie Harmon, Jordan Bridges), who grew up with the victim. 9 p.m., TNT.

WEDNESDAY: On “Necessary Roughness,” Dani (Callie Thorne) treats a professional bull rider while trying to deal with her own personal issues – namely, her recent breakup with Matt (Marc Blucas). 10:01 p.m., USA.

THURSDAY: On “Rookie Blue,” Dov (Gregory Smith) shoots a teenager during a convenience-store robbery. The incident causes an uproar in the community and prompts an investigation into Dov’s actions. 10 p.m., ABC.

FRIDAY: There’s havoc in Harlem on the latest episode of “3 Days to Open With Bobby Flay.” It has Bobby helping a first-time restaurateur get a comfort-food lounge up and running. 10 p.m., Food Network.

SATURDAY: “The Science of Doctor Who” sounds like a way-cool special. It’s an examination of the lofty concepts and iconic ideas in the vast universe of the beloved time-traveler. 9 p.m., BBC America.
