Billig to further legacy

Those of us in the 3rd Legislative District are lucky to have had Senate Majority Leader Lisa Brown represent us in Olympia for the past two decades. Her commitment to public education, her work on the now-thriving University District – including a much-needed and jobs-generating medical school – her unflagging advocacy for programs that benefit the most vulnerable among us, these are the envy of districts across the state.

Hers will be a tough act to follow. So we are doubly lucky that Rep. Andy Billig is running for Brown’s vacant seat. Co-owner of the Spokane Indians and endorsed by Lisa, Andy will bring his business experience to the many challenges facing us. He will continue Brown’s efforts on behalf of Spokane, efforts that range from protecting women’s health to fighting for public education.

We cannot afford to lose Brown’s legacy. Please join me in voting for Andy Billig as the next progressive senator from Washington’s 3rd District.
