Internet taxation burdensome

I am in agreement with the conservatives when it comes to taxing merchandise bought on the Internet. The city of Spokane has one tax, the county another, the incorporated areas another and then there’s the state tax. Companies would need a huge database to record all that information. Consumers are also unlikely to know how much to pay. I am always a few cents off.

Until they standardize taxes paid for Internet merchandise, I say hands off! Life is complicated enough. Let’s not force companies doing business on the Internet to figure out not only how much to collect but where to send it to on top of shipping costs.
