Obituary: Caputo, F. Geoffrey

Sun., July 29, 2012, midnight

Age 64

CAPUTO, F. Geoffrey
February 13, 1948 to
July 16, 2012

Geoff had an unmatched work ethic and dedication to his family.

Cancer stopped the business drive and Alzheimer’s slowly dismantled his ability to navigate the practicalities of life but not his commitment to family.

Measuring Geoff by how he loved, our memories of him, his integrity and the courage it took to face adversity day after day, would make him a lion.

Geoff loved his family fiercely, protected them, pushed with sometimes unrealistic expectations and played with abandon.

Geoff was a complicated man but you always knew how he felt by his laugh, Caputo “face” and words or devilish grin.

Geoff was an honest man and loved who he loved, with little patience for those he did not.

His illness distilled his character and his sweet love, appreciation and strength became his dominant qualities.

Geoff left an incredible void in our lives and a grief which will echo, always.

We were blessed with his unmistakable presence and will always wonder why he is gone.

Wife, Nancy of almost 40 years; daughter Michele (Mirek and grandson, Carter Geoffrey); and son John Geoffrey; Son Peter preceded him in death.

Brothers Steve (Tamara); John (Carol); Mark (Melanie); Gregg (Nancy); sisters Jill (Sam); Pam.

Mother, Rita; Father, Phillip John preceded him in death.
A celebration of Geoff’s life will be held at a later date when we can breathe again.

We know the light Geoff left will keep us warm, close and with the strength to deal with his loss.

Please pray for all of us and send memories our way.

Geoff, of course, requested his friends have a glass or two of good red wine.
