William M.

William Martin Stavrakas, 59, beloved brother and uncle passed away on July 25, 2012, in Spokane, WA.
Bill, a native Charlottean, was born on September 16, 1952.

He attended Our Lady of Assumption and Devon- shire Elementary Schools, Cocker Jr. HS, and Garinger HS.

He joined the U.S.
Marine Corps in 1971 and served two years of active duty.

He was employed for many years by PPG and Benswinger Glass as a mechanical glazer.
Bill loved to shoot pool, watch movies, listen to music, read and work on crossword puzzles.

He was a skilled carpenter and painter.

If given a plan, he could build what you wanted and enjoyed doing it.


He was a kind and loving brother and a doting uncle to all his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Ann Stavrakas and is survived by his four brothers: Nick, Bubba (Pam), John (Gina) and David; his four sisters: Lynn Bumgardner (Bill), Dolly Jackson, Nona Stavrakas and Nancy Keetch (Rodney) of Spokane, WA; 9 nieces and nephews, and 13 great-nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind numerous friends and cohorts to cherish his memory.
A memorial service for Mr. Stavrakas will be held at a future date in his hometown of Charlotte, NC.

Bill is in the Kingdom of our Lord, Jesus Christ and in the arms of the person who loved him the most, His mother.

Donations may be made in his name to the House of Charity or the Union Gospel Mission.
