Obituary: Valentine, Fay

Age 61

VALENTINE, Fay

August 18, 1950 -
June 20, 2012

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, on June 20, 2012 at Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley, WA after a brave battle with cancer.

Fay was born on August 18, 1950 to Florence (Sisco) and Henry Roskamp in Santa Ana, CA.

She attended Santa Ana High School and graduated in 1968.

She then attended Life Bible College, majoring in music and then worked at the telephone company and as a legal secretary.

In 1971, Fay married the love of her life, Fred Valentine, and they made their home in Orange County, CA and welcomed their four children.

They moved to Spokane in 1981, where Fay worked as a paralegal for 30 years, helping those injured while on-the-job.

Fay enjoyed raising her family in the Northwest, boating on the lakes, gardening, camping, bike riding, and traveling.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, reading, shooting, looking for antiques, riding her Moped and loved exercising at Zumba classes and with her Curves ladies.

She treasured her wonderful friends, being active in her local church and being an asset to her community by helping others and volunteering.

She was a woman of great faith, gracious and giving, devoted to prayer and service to others.

Her love for her family and friends ran deep and she welcomed all to her home where her door was always open.

Her greatest passion and joy was her family.
Fay is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Fred Valentine, her sons Jason (Elise) Valentine of Lake Stevens, WA, Jeremy (Seana) Valentine of Wynnewood, PA, Justin (Megan) Valentine of Liberty Lake, WA and her daughter Kara (Nick) Woodard of Longview, WA.

She is survived by her 13 beloved and treasured grandchildren, Natasha, Brooke, Troy, Vynessa, Molly, Luke, Dylan, Logan, Ryan, Hailey, Emma, Jackson and Colson.

She is also survived by her brother Court (Lauri) Roskamp of Spokane Valley, WA and her nieces and nephews.

Fay was preceded in death by her father Henry Roskamp in 1987 and her mother Florence Roskamp in 2001.
A memorial in honor of Fay will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Valley Assembly Church, 15618 E. Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley, WA.

All who knew and love Fay are welcome.
