Sheen says ‘Anger’ has staying power

From Wire Reports

Charlie Sheen says he’s not insane anymore.

These are good days for the “Anger Management” star, he declares, with his FX sitcom halfway through its initial 10-episode run and poised to get an order for 90 more.

Sheen said Saturday that the prospect of continuing is “exciting as hell,” and added cheerily, “I don’t think 90’s gonna be enough.”

The production schedule would call for filming a total of 100 episodes in just two years. This kind of cost-saving routine means no time for rehearsals, said executive producer Bruce Helford.

“The actors get the lines, we see the scene, the writers make changes, the actors go to makeup, cameras are blocked, we come back together and shoot the scene,” he explained.

On “Anger Management,” Charlie Goodson thrives on chaos. Sheen was asked if he does, too, or if he longs for a simpler life.

“I can wish every minute for a simple life. It’s not gonna happen,” Sheen replied. “But I don’t really look at it as chaos. I look at it as challenges.”

Biel says engagement is ‘wonderful’

Jessica Biel says that before Justin Timberlake proposed, she didn’t expect to ever get married.

The 30-year-old actress told the Associated Press on Friday that she feels “wonderful” about the engagement. Biel and Timberlake, 31, reportedly became engaged late last year but rarely speak publicly about their relationship.

Biel called the engagement “wonderful. It’s actually not anything I ever really thought was going to happen to me or that I really wanted. And when it happened it just seemed – it just was right.”

Emmy memorial tribute a challenge

The producer of this year’s Emmy Awards said it’s a challenge to decide who to include in the ceremony’s memorial tribute.

About three-dozen stars and other industry notables typically are honored in the “in memoriam” segment, although many more are deserving, executive producer Don Mischer said Friday.

He and the TV academy identify the late actors and other TV notables who will create an “emotional response” among Emmy viewers. That drew a wry observation from Jimmy Kimmel, who will host the Sept. 23 awards.

“I love that even in death, you’re subject to a popularity contest,” Kimmel said.
