Stabbing suspect turns himself in

The suspect in a stabbing early Saturday morning was arrested later that day when he surrendered to police.

The stabbing was reported in the 400 block of South Fiske Street just after 3 a.m. Saturday. Two men were arguing when one pulled out a knife and stabbed the other man several times, according to Spokane police.

The 29-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, had stab wounds in his torso, back and arms and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, police said.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Jesse D. Bell, was booked into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of first-degree assault after he turned himself in late Saturday.
