Helen was born August 19, 1927 in Colton Washing-ton to Viola and Carl Scharnhorst.
She passed away peacefully on July 26, 2012, after a long battle with diminishing eye sight and other health issues.
She grew up in the Genesee, Idaho area and graduated from Genesee High School.
She is survived by her husband, Donald P. Pittman; her two children Robert Kinyon and Douglas Kinyon (spouse Renee’), stepchildren Laurie Lucas, all of Spokane, Washington, Audri Crawford (spouse Don), Cheney, Washington, Kirk Pittman, Carnation, Washington, Mark Pittman, Layton, Utah; her sister Norma Spence (spouse Bertle), Moscow, Idaho; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother Carl Scharnhorst.
Viewing will be at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 1st from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and again on Thursday, August 2nd from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 3rd at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th Ave. Spokane, WA 99203.
