Obituary: Gilmore, Robert Saunders

GILMORE,
Robert S. (Age 48)

Robert Saunders Gilmore “Bob” was born October 11, 1963 in Berlin, Germany, while his father was a Fulbright Exchange teacher.

He died suddenly after a long illness on May 29, 2012.
At an early age Bob showed a passion for history and the English language and entertained his family by writing and publishing his own novels.

At Mead High School he excelled in debate and student government; winning many debate trophies and being elected ASB President.

At Gonzaga University he continued debate at the national level and upon graduation, received the Albert Mann award.

He attended graduate school and served as assistant debate coach at Baylor University.
During the last 20 years Bob worked in a variety of executive sales positions, mostly in Spokane.

He was obsessed with politics - he was a true liberal.

He loved movies, jazz, and the Lakers, and shared these interests with his children.

Many of us remember Oscar Night: he surrounded himself with family, friends, and co-workers, made rules for the contest, and gave prizes to the winners.
Bob is survived by his parents: Robert and Loraine, his children: Aleah,Lauren, and Grant, and his sister: Lynn Beu (Doug).
A private memorial gathering is pending.

Memorial gifts may be made to Second Harvest Inland NW.
