Born on July 15, 1928, to Minor and Genivieve Wetzel in Almira, WA.
Minor served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, after which he owned and operated Wetzel Insurance Agency in Almira for over 30 years.
He also served as the Fire Chief for the town of Almira, Grant and Lincoln County Fire Districts.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Wetzel, Spokane, WA; seven children, John (Marion) Caple, Ogden, UT, Shannon (Ernie) Carney, Houston, TX, Linda (Don) Adams, Homedale, ID, Neal Wetzel, Seattle, WA, Katherine (Chris) Neilsen, Almira, WA, Elizabeth (Mike) Mitchell, Walla Walla, WA, Minor (Stacy) Wetzel, La Canada, CA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; brother, Duane (Louise) Wetzel, Richland, WA.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2012, 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Spokane Stake Center, 1620 E. 29th Ave., Spokane, WA.
Graveside Service at the Almira Cemetery will be held at 3:00 pm in Almira, WA.
