Donna Agnew
(Age 82)

Passed away Monday, May 28, 2012 at the family home on Long Lake in Nine Mile Falls, WA.

Donna was born and raised in Cottonwood, ID where she graduated from St Gertrude’s Academy.

She then attended Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Portland, OR earning her degree and license as a Registered Nurse.

Donna began her 45+ year career in Cottonwood at the local hospital before moving back to Portland then to Spokane where she worked throughout the Spokane area with Sacred Heart, Holy Family and the VA Hospital as well as numerous private practice offices; she enjoyed most working in the operating room.

After her career she volunteered for 8 years with the House of Charity Medical Outreach Clinic.

Donna was faith filled, fun loving and family orientated.

She was proud of her Irish heritage and loved a good party.

She was also a proud and dedicated mother and grandmother.

Donna is survived by her husband of 49 years John W. “Jack”; sons Christopher John (Ann), Thomas Henry (Patsy) and Brian Joseph (Ann) Winkler; daughter Catherine Mary (Ric) Slagle; sister Gertrude Tobin; seven grandchildren; and dozens of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son Stephen William Winkler (1965), four brothers and five sisters.

Vigil service will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 3:30 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church (Suncrest) 6122 Highway 291 (near mile post 15 at Moriah Dr) with a “good Irish wake” to follow at the family home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 7 at 11:00 am at Assumption BVM Catholic Church 3624 W Indian Trail Rd, Spokane with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Reception will follow at Dance Street Ballroom 433 W Dean.
