Obey 10th Amendment

Lee Freese (May 30) expresses displeasure with a reader’s opinion that frowns upon the use of federal funding to support citizens’ educational pursuits. Arguing that while the Constitution does not support this use, Freese goes on to write, “The Constitution does not forbid it.”

False!

The 10th Amendment reads: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Like it or not, the Constitution is the supreme law of the United States of America. It is the law every member of our three branches of government is required to uphold. We, the people, should hold these officials’ feet to the fire and ensure they execute their duties in accordance with the law, or leave office.
