CORNAGEY, Edwin A., Jr.
(Age 85)

Passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 11:00 am in Coffelt’s Funeral Chapel with interment in Gamlin Lake Cemetery.

Pastor Dave Olson of the First Lutheran Church will officiate.


Ed was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho on May 14, 1927 and graduated from high school, in Vancouver, Washington in 1945.

During high school he worked in the naval shipyards prior to joining the US Army.

He served in the Aleutians during WW II.

He maintained a radio station and worked as a disc jockey at night.

In 1950 he completed his studies in radio studies at Multnomah College.
He worked for Pacific Gas Transmission for 34 years, retiring in Spokane in 1994 as a training specalist.

He built, and maintained, the microwave sites from the Canadian border to Oregon and throughout the Northwest.

He lived in Sandpoint in the early 1960’s building his own home on Syringa Heights, and was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Ed moved from Mead, WA, to Bottle Bay, on Lake Pend Oreille in 2010.

He has made his home at the Bridge since July 2010.

He was a member of the Spokane Rose Society for 30 years.

He participated in the Spokane Rose Show, winning many trophies.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting in the area.
He is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Joan Cornagey in Sagle, ID; four children Dan Cornagey in Albany, OR; Stephanie David in Bellevue, WA; Thomas Cornagey in Liberty Lake, WA; and Kathleen Davis in Auburn, WA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
