Obituary: Woehl, Rosina L.

Age 86

WOEHL, Rosina L. (Walter)

Passed away June 1, 2012 with her loving husband Melvin at her side.

Rosina was born April 17, 1926 in Billings, Montana.

She was the eldest of four children born to Paul and Lola Walter.

She graduated from the University of Montana in 1949 and received her M.A.

in education from Washington State University in 1957.

On December 21, 1946, she married Melvin Woehl.


During their early years together, Mel and Rosina lived and taught school in several towns in Washington and Oregon.

In 1958 they moved to Spokane where they have lived since.

Rosina was an elementary school teacher for over thirty years, spending the last 20 years of her career at Lincoln Heights, teaching second and third grades.

She was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority and an active member of her church.
Rosina is survived by her husband of 65 years, Melvin, her daughter Marianne Drewes (Kevin), son David Woehl (Maria) and daughter Sue Reynolds (Tony), her sister Dolores, as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


A visitation will be held at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA on Thursday June 7, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Services will be held at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 4320 S. Conklin St., Spokane, WA on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 11:00 am.
