Quest plays host to Vintage Spokane

The Northern Quest Resort & Casino will host this year’s Vintage Spokane on June 24.

Sip wines from some 60 Washington wineries and sample foods from Masselow’s, other resort restaurants and a few area businesses. Tickets are $45 per person. Vintage Spokane will be held 3 to 6 p.m.

VIP tickets give diners exclusive access an hour earlier, starting at 2 p.m., for $60 per person. The event also features a series of demonstrations by Northern Quest chefs.

Here’s the schedule:

2:20 p.m.: Salmon with Macadamia Butter from chef Kevin Enos of River’s Edge Buffet.

3 p.m.: Cider Braised Pork Belly from chef Bob Rogers of Masselow’s.

3:40 p.m.: Shrimp General from chef Stuart Blankenship of Fai’s Noodle House.

4:20 p.m.: Garlic Peppercorn Steak Bites with Sautéed Port Mushrooms from chef Cameron Akins

5 p.m.: Caramel Spicy Chicken from the resort’s executive chef Bryan L. Franz.

The Pour set for June 16

Area winemakers will gather on June 16 to honor the memory of the late Dr. Michael Manz and raise money for psychiatric programs at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. Manz and his family started Mountain Dome Winery and he founded the children’s hospital’s BEST program to help children struggling with behavioral and emotional problems.

More than 15 wineries are participating in the event, which includes a before-dinner tasting and dinner pairings. Catered For You will make the four-course dinner and an assortment of appetizers. There will also be an auction.

The dinner will start at 5:30 p.m. on the grounds of Arbor Crest Wine Cellars, 4705 N. Fruit Hill Road. Tickets are $150 each. There is more information at www.thepour.info or (509) 474-2819.
