Age 95, of El Dorado, KS

Formerly of Spokane, WA and Prairie Village, KS, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Vintage Place, El Dorado.

She was born on October 31, 1916 in Spokane, WA, the daughter of the late Claude and Helen Yarroll.
She grew up and lived in Spokane until she married Weeter S. Pond in 1938.

They were married for 47 years until his death in 1985.

In 1987, Marie married Leo Haynes to whom she was married until his death in 2004.
Marie was a talented salesperson and enjoyed her many years working in the boys’ department of local Kansas City department stores.

She was a gracious hostess and loved entertaining in her home.

She was also a true friend to her many acquaintances.

But most of all, Marie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Weeter Pond; her husband, Leo Haynes; parents Helen and Claude Yarroll and two sisters, Catherine Yarroll and Margaret Richards Mortensen.
She is survived by her son, Larry W. Pond and his wife Linda, of El Dorado; her son, Dale C. Pond and his wife, Susan of Mooresville, NC; grandsons Brian Pond (Lena) of El Dorado and Steven Pond of Olathe; granddaughter Ashli Pond Guglielmo (Don) of Mooresville, NC; eight great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
The family greatly appreciates all the support and caring from the staff of Vintage Place and Heartland Hospice.

We want to especially acknowledge her dear friends Virginia, Kathy and Rex and Bonnie and Erick, who have helped to make her final years happier.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of Carlson Funeral Home to Former Agents of the FBI Foundation or Rogers High School Scholarship Fund.

At Marie’s request, a celebration of her life will be private.
