Harold W. Sr.

Harold W. Simon, Sr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 2, 2012 after a 9 year battle with lymphoma.

Harold was born on July 17, 1932 in East Lansing, Michigan to August and Caroline Simon.

He was the youngest of six children, brother Arnold (Joanne) still resides in Michigan.

While in the USAF stationed at Fairchild, Harold met Mary E. Kaufman of Lewiston and Spokane.

After a whirlwind romance, the two were married at Sacred Heart Church on June 20,1953.

The union bore three sons Harold W. Jr. of Arizona, Joseph F. of Tacoma, John A.

(Ann) of Spokane, and two daughters Elizabeth A.

(William) Mouser and Theresa M. (Winston) Mouser, both of Spokane.

The special lights of his life were grandchildren Rachel Simon, and Anastasia, Jacob, and Joseph Mouser.

spanned 27years as a grain inspector.

He collaborated on many projects which resulted in our area becoming the world’s leading producer of fine grains.

Harold and Mary’s slice of heaven is at Rockford Bay on Lake CDA.

His legacy as a craftsman, builder and handyman live on in the cabin, projects continued into his final days.

Harold’s infectious laugh and sense of humor will live on in our hearts forever.
Special thanks to Dr. Lund, his colleagues and staff, the caregivers at SHMC, especially the 7th floor, and to the angels of Hospice of Spokane.

The family suggests memorial donations to the cancer fighting organization of your choice or to Hospice of Spokane.

Funeral mass and a reception to follow will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 34th & Perry on Saturday, June 16, at 11am.
