STEWART, Andree “Meme”
(Age 87)

Of Spokane, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 with her family by her side.

Andree was born in Dury-les-Amiens, France on August 23, 1924 to her parents Leonard and Odile Bevis.

She married Floyd Stewart of Outlook, Montana on May 26, 1944 in Wantage, England.

The couple met while Floyd was serving in the Army and stationed in England.

After WWII ended, Andree and daughter Dione traveled to the USA to reunite with Floyd in NE Montana.

In 1958 Andree, Floyd, Dione and son John moved to Spokane.

Andree worked at the Crescent department store for 22 years until her retirement in 1982 as an assistant buyer for the Sportswear Department.

Andree was a member of the American Business Woman’s Association and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed fellowship with her many friends.

She valued the many special moments spent with her family.

Andree loved her family very much and will be missed by them and her long-time friends.

She will also be remembered for her passion of adopting pet rescue dogs, gardening, sewing, and cooking.


Andree is preceded in death by her husband, parents, step-father Frank Tilbrook, step-sister Dione (Tony) Kinge and son-in-law Russell Bishop.

She is survived by her two children, Dione Bishop and John (Bonnie) Stewart of Spokane, grandchildren Matt (Jolene) Stewart, Brady (Nicole) Stewart, Ryan (Kenda) Bishop, Robin (Rubie) May, Heidi (Bruce) Weyrauch, and Eric (Robin) Bishop, all of Spokane, great-grandchildren, Sareya and Kaylee Bishop, Alex, Cameron, Nolan and Elliot Stewart, Aaron, Neal and Tia Weyrauch, and Ethan, Brogan and Brielle Bishop, all of Spokane, sister-in-law Jackie (Stewart) Bridges, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 10:00AM to 6:00PM and on Friday June 15, 2012 from 8:00AM to 10:00AM.

Funeral services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on June 15, 2012 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Spokane, Spokane Humane Society or Union Gospel Mission.
