Obituary: Walker, Skeeter

WALKER,
Skeeter
(Age 70)

On June 4, 2012 at 11:17 pm after a 40-day battle with leukemia, Skeeter Walker passed away surrounded by loved ones and his two dogs.

All, especially those who benefited from his large lunches, will miss him dearly.

He was a man who truly cared for and loved the people in his life, and lived to provide for those around him.

He was caring, giving, and would do anything for anyone.

Non-stop energy, magnetic charisma and unmatchable work ethic contributed to his long, successful career in sales.

Skeeter was born at Deaconess Hospital on May 15, 1942 and lived most of his life in Spokane.

He loved horse races, yard sales, animals, cooking, art, gambling, warm weather, sunglasses, and his family and friends.

He was able to lighten even the heaviest of situations with his sense of humor; his chuckle and laugh will be remembered by all of us who loved him.

Skeeter was preceded in death by his father, Robert Walker and is survived by his mother Maxine Walker; wife Amber Haase; children, Joe (Amy) Walker, Stephanie Walker, Ashley Walker (Kenny Gingras), Ryan Walker, and Jessica Clifford; grandchildren, Justine, Justin, Travis, and Madison, as well as his pups Winston and Tucker; brothers, Colonel (Bonnie) Walker and Rocky (Sue) Walker; his in-laws, Karen and Gary Goyins, Mel and Carol Haase and countless friends.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012, 6:00 PM, at Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 115 N. Raymond.

A reception will follow at Ironhorse Bar and Grill, 11105 E. Sprague.

Memorial contributions can be sent to SCRAPS, 2521 N. Flora Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99216.
