Ellen Lorraine
(Age 90)

With elegance, grace and class and her best friend Charlie by her side, Ellen left us on June 5, 2012 in Spokane Valley, WA.

She was born July 31, 1921 in Butte, MT to Leslie and Florence Hastie.

During WWII, Ellen went to work as a metal fabricator “Rosie the Riveter”.

She then joined the Women’s Auxiliary Corps, WACS, and served at bases throughout the U.S. Ellen also worked at The Crescent in retail for over 30 years.

She was a part of the El Katif Shriners in Spokane with her husband and loved to sew.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Brian and Bruce Campbell and Cathleen Smith; nephew, Paul (Fay) Bertelson; niece, Cathy Bertelson; nephew, Glen Bertelson and sister-in-law, Lorraine Bertelson.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, James Campbell; daughter, Billie Rae Roberts and son, Ralph L. Bertelson.

Ellen will be deeply missed by her family and many special friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11 AM at the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spokane Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
