Loving mother, grandmother, and friend, Alice passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012.

She was born September 14, 1927 in Wenatchee, Washington to John and Elizabeth Diede.

After graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1945 she met and married Donald Eugene Overman on June 9, 1946.

After Gene’s military career as an instructor in the Army Air Corp, they moved to Seattle where Gene graduated from the University of Washington while Alice worked for Taylor-Edwards Whse & Tfr Co., Inc. of Seattle.

Eventually Alice was able to get Gene a job with the firm from which both eventually retired together.

Alice was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1969 and enjoyed years of social events and community service.

Both she and Gene were members of Millwood Presbyterian church.

Alice was always, regardless of the enormity of the task, right there with Gene in farming and ranching while still managing the household and children.

Anyone knowing Alice would remember her ability to take care of her family as well as most of the neighborhood kids.

Nobody left hungry.

Alice will be remembered as someone with great passion and a deep seated love and commitment to her family and friends and cherished each and every relationship.

Alice was possibly the most determined person you would have met….determined to make a better life for her family at any expense, tireless at getting it done.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Gene, son Douglas, granddaughter Heather, five brothers Herbert, Henry, Alvin, Albert, and Philip as well as two sisters Helen and Alma.

Alice is survived by her son Roger and his children Garth and Karly as well as a son Paul and his children Cassandra and Kayla; Doug’s daughter Andrea.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday June 16, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
