In brief: Ribbon-cutting at Cliff Park

CLIFF/CANNON – The Cliff/Cannon Neighborhood Council will have its final meeting before summer break tonight at 6 p.m. at Cliff Park, 426 W. 12th Ave.

The meeting will be held in conjunction with the council’s sixth annual Snack and Stroll. Community members are invited to attend the event, beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the new landing, handrails and steps up to the top of the park’s lookout. Visitors are invited to have a cookie and hang a tree gram on the newest Susie Forest tree. The evening will conclude with a guided walk to view historic homes, ending at the top of the lookout.

Summer classes for seniors offered

SPOKANE COUNTY – Local seniors will have an opportunity to have fun and stay fit during summer classes available at the Institute for Extended Learning seniors program.

Classes include introduction to weaving, gardening, art and fitness.
