Moscow’s Chris Williams leads Washington state amateur
Chris Williams of Moscow, Idaho, took sole possession of the lead after three rounds of the Washington State Men’s Amateur Championship on Thursday with a 2-under-par 71 over the Eagles Pride Golf Course at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
Williams leads by six strokes with only four golfers under par after three rounds. Williams is at 10-under 203.
Williams, who will be a senior on the University of Washington golf team next season, had four birdies and two bogeys during the round. He opened with a pair of 67s.
Five Spokane golfers remain in the field: Dylan Maine (214, after tying for Thursday’s low round at 67), Robby McKee (222), Justin Haase (228), Rob Seibly (229), and Evan Dyar (232).
Baseball
Gonzaga University sophomore Marco Gonzales and senior Royce Bolinger both landed a spot on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s All-America teams.
Gonzales is a second-team utility selection while Bolinger was a third-team outfield honoree.
