R. Kelly now faces $5 million tax bill

R&B star R. Kelly, who last year saw his suburban Chicago mansion fall into foreclosure, now has the Internal Revenue Service at his door.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that documents show the recording artist owes the IRS nearly $5 million in unpaid taxes.

Kelly owes the money for unpaid taxes back as far as 2005. He paid $2.6 million in back taxes in 2008 and another $1 million last year, but the records show he still owes the federal government nearly $5 million.

Young Palin faces reality of lawsuit

A Los Angeles man is suing the Lifetime Network and Sarah Palin’s daughter, Bristol, claiming he was taped heckling her for a planned reality show without his consent.

Stephen Hanks filed a federal lawsuit seeking general and punitive damages, saying he’s a victim of defamation and invasion of privacy after video aired of their confrontation at a California bar in September. Hanks says he wasn’t told the film crew was shooting footage for the show “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.”

In an expletive-laden tirade, Hanks insults Bristol’s mother and calls the 21-year-old “white trash from Wasilla.”

Darth Vader ad actor has surgery

The 7-year-old actor known as the boy behind the Darth Vader mask in a popular car commercial underwent open-heart surgery Thursday in Los Angeles.

The surgery to replace Max Page’s pulmonary valve lasted two hours and took place without incident, according to the surgeon, Dr. Vaughn Starnes.

Max, who plays Reed on the CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” was born with a congenital heart defect and has undergone multiple surgeries.

Pop star caught up in bar brawl

Singer Chris Brown, his girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, and his bodyguard were injured when a dance floor showdown with members of hip-hop star Drake’s entourage turned into a bottle-hurling brawl earl Thursday at a New York nightclub, police said.

Brown tweeted a photo of himself with a cut chin, then later removed it, as well as other messages about the fight, including epithets and taunts. A representative later released a statement saying the singer was a victim of a “brutal attack.”
