Home tour promises to be worth the journey to Palouse

The season for long, scenic drives is upon us again, and it’s worth the gas Saturday to make the hour-plus journey to Palouse, Wash.

You’ll be treated to a tour of four homes, a historic chapel and a stunning English style garden. The homes span 100 years in age, from the Victorian era to modern time.

You’ll be treated to a tour of four homes, a historic chapel and a stunning English style garden. The homes span 100 years in age, from the Victorian era to modern time.

The city of Palouse, surrounded by rolling wheat hills, is at the junction of the Palouse River and state Route 27. Proceeds from tour ticket sales will benefit the preservation of Holy Trinity Chapel, an 1895 building once used as a church and now enjoying a second life as a gathering place for weddings, memorial services and cultural presentations.

The home and garden tour will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The $15 tickets are available at Holy Trinity Chapel, at the corner of Bridge and Alder Streets in Palouse. For more information, call (509) 878-1826.
