Gonzaga’s Victoria Fallgren is just one stroke off the lead after Monday’s first day of stroke play at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links in Neshanic Station, N.J.

Fallgren shot a 3-under 69, good for a three-way tie for third place.

Bulldogs teammate Tai Jade Kliebphipat shot a 2-over 72 and is in a 19-way tie for 55th place. The top 64 golfers in the field of 156 will advance to match play after today’s final 18 holes of stroke play.

Idaho’s Leilanie Kim is tied for 94th after shooting a 5-over 77. However, she is just three strokes back of a group tied at 74, which encompasses the low 64 scores after the first day.
