EVERETT – Christopher Taylor’s two-out RBI single to left field in the 13th inning Wednesday night gave the Everett AquaSox a 9-8 win over the Spokane Indians to open a five-game Northwest League series at Memorial Stadium. Spokane (1-5) had taken an 8-6 lead in the top of the 13th on Joe Maloney’s two-run homer to left, but Marcus Littlewood wiped away the edge with a no-out, two-run homer to right in the bottom of the 13th off Nick Vickerson (0-1), the sixth Indians pitcher. Vickerson retired the next two batters, but two walks set the stage for Taylor’s winning hit. The Indians forced extra innings in the ninth when Preston Beck’s two-out single to right scored Gabriel Roa. Everett scored four runs in the first on one hit, two walks, a hit batter and three Spokane errors. Spokane forged a 5-all tie in the top of the sixth. Ryan Rua singled and Cam Schiller drew a walk to set up Barrett Serrato’s three-run homer to right.
