Obituary: Butcher, Margaret

Age 86

BUTCHER,
Margaret
“Peggy”

It is with profound sorrow that our beautiful, spirited mother, Margaret “Peggy” Beck-Butcher has passed.

She returned to God’s embrace on June 15, 2012 surrounded by the love of her four children, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Peggy was born on September 9, 1925 in Phoenix, Arizona.

In 1942 she met Alden Butcher, who was stationed at Luke Air Force Base.

They married in 1943 and moved to Tekoa, Washington, along with their two young sons, Brian and Tim.

Soon after, son Mike and daughter Colleen were born.

They later moved to Spokane.
Mom’s pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She loved attending school programs, recitals, sporting events and camping with them.
She also gave her heart to the ARC Board, Advocate for Housing for Developmentally Delayed Adults and Multiple Sclerosis Society.

She was a member of Spokane Carousel, Clownarrifics and Service League at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Mom’s favorite pastimes were ceramics, china painting, sewing and spending time with family and friends.
Mom is reunited with her family in heaven.

Her loving husband Alden will be so happy to welcome her.

Mom’s greatest love was her family and we will miss her dearly.
Her last four years were spent at Emilie Court where she was happy, busy and lovingly cared for.

She moved to Avalon Care Center in April, where again she was blessed with wonderful, dedicated caregivers.

We give them our thanks and gratitude.
She is survived by her children: Brian (Becky), Tim (Peggy), Mike and Colleen (Mike) Cosgrove.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 21, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and Friday, June 22 from 9:00am to noon, at the funeral home.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 22, at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Mausoleum Chapel, 7200 N. Wall Street.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to our brothers work support and home: Artisans, 200 E. 2nd Ave, Ste A, Spokane WA 99202 or Spokane L’Arche, 703 E. Nora, Spokane WA 99207.
