Senior center golf scramble June 27

WEST HILLS – The Corbin Senior Activity Center will hold its third annual golf scramble on June 27 at Indian Canyon Golf Course, 4304 W. West Drive. Check in is at 6:50 a.m. and the scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 7:50.

The event will include not only a fun day of golf, but also prizes and a gift bag.

Cost is $64 for Corbin Senior Center members and $79 for nonmembers, which includes greens fees, a golf cart and lunch. A portion of the proceeds from the golf scramble will benefit Corbin.

Firefighters plan demo June 23

SPOKANE COUNTY – Spokane County Fire District 9 will have a demonstration day on Saturday at their training facility, 3801 E. Farwell Road, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Firefighters will demonstrate how to handle situations using their equipment and expertise properly.

The community awareness day will also include an open house at fire station 92. Visitors can tour the station and firetrucks, meet local firefighters and also say hello to Smokey Bear.

The event is free and open to the public.
