Obituary: Walker, Jerry Blake


Jerry Blake Walker, 70, passed away at his home, Saturday, June 16th, 2012 in Spokane, WA. Jerry was born to Bob and Bea Walker on January 10th, 1942, in Snyder Texas.
Jerry attended Whitworth College and Eastern Wash- ington University obtaining a bachelors degree and MBA degree respectively. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Jerry proudly served in the submarine service during the Vietnam war. Jerry moved to Spokane in 1968 and worked at Washington Water Power (now Avista) until his retirement in 2000.
He enjoyed sailing on Lake Pend Oreille, which included a victory in the Windspeed Plus Classic sailboat race. Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing with his dogs.
Jerry is survived by his wife Ann Walker, his sons Steve (Bridgett) Jones and Kelly (Theresa) Jones; five grandchildren, Amanda, Chris, Kelsey, Blake and Matthew and one great-granddaughter, Leeloo; his brother Dub, and his sister Lynne.
Funeral services will be held at the Sunset Chapel in Fairmount Memorial Park on Friday, June 22nd, at Noon. A reception will be held following the funeral service at the Northstar Lodge at 6614 N. Cedar Road. A special thanks to hospice of spokane for their wonderful care.
Jerry will be greatly missed by all.
