Four undefeateds in Midget League
Four teams completed the first week of Spokane Valley Baseball play with 2-0 records.
Spoko 1858 in the Midget League allowed but a single run in its victories, 5-1 and 4-0. Hayden Darby had two hits in the latter game and fanned eight while pitching three innings of the opener. He was part of a centerfield-to-pitcher-to home plate double play. Tyler Campbell, who made the catch in center field, was two-for-two and drove in two runs. Darby drove in half the runs during the shutout victory.
Other Midget highlights: Blasingame Insurance and Autocraft also started 2-0. Skyler Townsend’s first-inning …

Ben Norin hit two doubles and drove in three runs in game two. … Nick Zorich was 3-for-4 with two home runs and drove in three runs for Sodorff and Wilson DDS.
In Pee Wee League play, Gibson’s Nursery and Landscape pitchers Andrew Heesh and Gage Nelson combined on a 4-0 no-hitter. Seventeen of the 18 outs were strikeouts. Sterling Self Storage is 2-0.
Other PeeWee highlights: M-L Supply’s Park Hormel had two hits and Andrew Anderson was the winning pitcher as the team rallied with three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings of a 6-5 victory.
