Robbins takes over for LCSC baseball when Picone resigns

Gary Picone announced Friday that he will step down as head coach of the Lewis-Clark State Warriors baseball program.

Picone, who will remain the school’s athletic director, also announced that Western Oregon University head coach Jeremiah Robbins has been hired as his successor.

Picone replaced longtime successful coach Ed Cheff and led the Warriors to a record of 80-31 the past two seasons in Lewiston.

Robbins compiled a 252-109 record during his seven seasons as coach of the Wolves.

Idaho Vandals golfer Kaitlyn Oster fell 7 and 6 to Caitlin McCleary of The Dalles, Ore., in the Women’s Oregon Amateur Championship match-play quarterfinals at the Tualatin Country Club.
