A military garrison in the northeastern Polish town of Stare Kiejkuty allegedly hosted a secret CIA detention center.

Foreign detainees, including self-professed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, were subjected to harsh interrogation techniques at the site, Polish prosecutors say.

Also allegedly interrogated there was Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, who is accused of plotting the 2000 attack by al-Qaida on the U.S. destroyer Cole in Yemen.

Polish prosecutors are investigating the allegations and, if true, what Polish officials knew of the activities there and who was responsible.
